- In retaliation for the Skyllian Blitz two years earlier, the Alliance attacks batarian interests on Torfan and other small moons. During the raid on Rantol, the 103rd Unit is caught in a blast during a sweep in one of the bunkers. The blast is later determined to have been set off by their Lieutenant, James Skinner, who had intended to collapse the bunker and trap the batarians inside. During subsequent investigations, Skinner claims that he had tried to warn his unit, but his warning had been sent on the wrong frequency. By strange coincidence, one of the few survivors is Pvt. Justine Marsters, the only known survivor of the ambush on Marile the previous year.
- ExoGeni Corporation announces plans to colonize Feros.
- N7 commandos Gerard Keller, Jessica Nolan, Benjamin Hatzis, and David Payne form the original Omega Squad.
