Vice Admiral Antonio Benincasa was the commander of the Alliance Second Fleet, after succeeding Admiral Drescher, at the start of the Reaper War. When Admiral Hackett ordered the Second Fleet to provide cover for the Third and Fifth to escape, Benincasa bravely led his men against the Reapers. He was ultimately killed by the Reapers along with the rest of the Second Fleet.
Background[]
Serving as a Lieutenant during the First Contact War, Benincasa had been with the Second Fleet since at least the FCW. Originally assigned aboard the SSV Yorktown, Benincasa served as a navigator/yeoman to the ship's commanding officer. Sometime prior to 2175, he was promoted to Captain and given command of the Yorktown, which he had been XO of for several years. In 2180, he was again promoted to Rear Admiral and was placed as XO of the Second Fleet, which he was overjoyed about. Following the retirement of Admiral Drescher, Benincasa was given command of the Second Fleet in 2182.
Death[]
In 2186, the Reapers attacked Arcturus Station. Under the orders of Admiral Hackett, Benincasa ordered the Second Fleet to engage the Reapers and allow the Third and Fifth fleets to escape. He, along with the entire Second Fleet, was killed by the Reapers.
