Callisto

The Callisto Incident of 2159 was a major disaster involving the overuse of the technique, Harvest Mining. On 2159, a large bomb detonated roughly 500 miles beneath Callisto, one of Jupiter's many moons, causing a chain reaction which eventually lead to the total collapse of the moon. This incident alone made Harvest Mining illegal, and costed Evers-Ferrell Energy Corporation millions of credits.

The Callisto Incident killed millions of people, not on Jupiter as it's gravity was too heavy for life, but on the surrounding moons which held not only mining camps but company facilities. Callisto was also a colony, the collapse of it lead to the deaths of all colonists on the surface. The total death toll reached in the tens of millions, a memorial on the colony of Europa is made of chunks of Callisto to help memorialize the event.

The Callisto Incident occurred on 2159, when Planet Harvesting Station "Yeager" dropped a 10.6 Megaton bomb onto Callisto, which had been the site of many mining missions. The bomb dug approximately 500 Feet deep before exploding, though the explosion caused a chain reaction with two other mining platforms causing a massive earthquake to occur. The earthquake destablized the core, soon causing volcanic eruption all across the surface and eventually lead to the breaking apart of the moon Callisto.

In 2161, Evers-Ferrell Energy Corporation launched the Callisto Civilian Station, a large colony much like Omega but made of the husk of Callisto. The station soon gathered colonists from the other moons and travelers, the current population is 2,300.

In 2162, The official memorial of Callisto was placed on the station, a large black wall that has all names of the dead colonists on the moon surrounding moons.
