- “While I do admit that the Concord and the Lexington had been supposed to serve as the prototype to that of the new Normandy, of yours, and all of its wonderful new tech goodies built into it. However, that said, the Concord is still a tough little ship that does hit way above its weight class even without that fancy stealth tech you have onboard the Normandy...”
- —Subcommander Brianna Carter, CSV Concord Commander, to Commander Alexandra Shepard, Commander CSV Normandy, February 11, 2184
The Cerberus Space Vessel Concord, and Lexington (TD-01, Tactical Destroyer-01) was originally designed and developed to serve as the overall prototype design for the later developed CSV Normandy, (Stealth Reconnaissance Ship-02 - SR-02), mainly with the new technologies and weapons developed for the new Normandy. This would include the newly designed Thanix Cannon, the Cyclonic Barrier Technology, and the Silaris Armor not to mention using the same overall hull design. Hence, it could be argued by many that the two ships of the Concord Class are in fact sister ships to that of the new Normandy the only difference between the two ships being that the Normandy sporting the IES Stealth System and the new TANTALUS-II Series Drive Core. Both of which are already proven technologies and are just vastly improved versions of what the original Normandy already sported. It would be completed in late January of 2184.
General Overview[]
While the two ships of the Concord Class mainly served as prototypes for the new Normandy it was still designed to serve as a lightweight destroyer type warship with the idea to be used in tactical and assault type missions for the newly formed Cerberus Paramilitary Forces. Hence, unlike its near sister the Normandy, the Concord Class is not designed to silent sulk through places where they are not wanted, but being actually at the front of a larger assault force breaking through an enemy force with its heavy weapons and armor. Therefore, not only is the Concord equipped with the heavier Type-3 Thanix Cannon but also sported a double barreled regular-old mass accelerator cannon turret often found as secondary broadside guns on a cruiser giving it a large punch. To defend itself the class sports seven newly introduced double barreled versions of the standard Systems Alliance GU-10 GUARDIAN Laser Defense Batteries, and six lightweight "Pepperbox" Defensive Missile Turrets which are basically smaller versions of the defensive missile turrets often found onboard Systems Alliance Navy cruisers. It also sports a thicker layer of Silaris Armor allowing the ship to take hits that would destroy or cripple a similar-sized ship of any other Citadel Council-aligned fleets. Meanwhile, its regular-old TANTALUS Series Drive Core it sports and top-of-the-line FTL Drive gave the ship a decent amount of maneuverability better then a similar-sized Atha Class Heavy Frigate of the Asari Republics Fleet with its large regular Mass Effect Drive Core.
Overall, the Concord Class is basically visually quite similar to that of the new Normandy and the only difference that lay between them is that the Normandy is designed to serve as a fleet vanguard unit and a dedicated frigate hunter while the Normandy serves as a stealth and reconnaissance ship that also doubles as a platform to insert heavily armed combat teams onto planets. This does see a difference in their crews, auxiliary compliment, and internal layouts. For example, the Normandy sports an extra deck below the Crew Deck which sports facilities and such for a dedicated onboard Cerberus Trooper contingent. The Concord meanwhile doesn't sport this deck and instead sports a slightly larger hangar bay in exchange allowing the ship to carry a small squadron of Cerberus F/A-7 Partisan Fighters in place of dedicated shuttles. However, the Concord Class like the larger Phoenix Class Cruiser Carriers can also exchange their fighters for shuttles or gunships to support a planetary combat operation if required. Though unlike the Phoenix Class ships the Concorddoesn't sport the required needed crew space and extra life support to carry a dedicated largescale infantry force onboard. Still the two ships of the Concord Class could if needed sport the ability to carry an extra twenty-four people onboard without a strain on its life support which is often a small squad of supporting Cerberus Troopers for security onboard the ship which can be used for supporting a small mission on a planet.
All told, the Concord Class is quite an interesting design that provides the Cerberus Paramilitary Forces a decent light destroyer and a good compliment to the smaller Lupus Class Assault Corvettes that Cerberus have started to produced in decent numbers. It would also briefly serve as the flagship for the Paramilitary Force Fleet, at least till the commissioning of the CSV Phoenix. the first of the Cruiser Carriers a couple months later.

Trivia and Design Notes[]
- As mentioned the overall hull design and such of these two ships are heavily based on the SR-2 Normandy and the only difference between them all would be the stealth features of the Normandy.
- This is a slightly different version of the CDV Gallipoli Page on the Mass Effect Fanfiction Wiki, mainly some slight changes to its design, and a general rename of the class.
