Early Military Career[]
Commander Deker Martinez was born on November 11, 2198 CE, where he grew up on Earth living in New Los Angeles, California living with his mother and father. During his times growing up, he often dreamed about one day serving in the Alliance brass in the N7 Program like his hero, the legendary Commander Shepard. At age 18 his dream came true as he was selected out of the lucky few recruits to join the N7 program.
Years later after graduating the program and ranking to Lieutenant-Commander, a secret Alliance division only known as Omni recruited him asking if he wanted to explore the galaxy like his hero Commander Shepard. Deker agreed and was introduced to his new crew with a newly designed ship created to try and visit worlds without the Mass Relays. he dubbed his new ship The Puebla, after finilazing some tests, Deker launched the ship where thanks to an alternative source of Mass-Effect fields allowed him to travel to another world.
Personality[]
During his training days, many of the Alliance brass called him extraordinary not because of his strengths or abilities but due to his incredible visual acceleration allowing him to figure out structural weaknesses in his opponent or space-craft. Aside from the rank and record, he is known by many that were close to him as a True yet unexpected solider who would follow orders but disobey them should any situation change in his favor.
Career[]
After being accepted into the N7 Program as one of the few cadets he went to basic training for a full-year to prepare for the tougher training ahead of him unlike anything imaginable. On 2218 CE, he was assigned along with his company to several small task-force that ran rescue-training missions in order to prepare them for what the higher-ups expected from him. One mission changed him dramatically when he met Liara T'Soni, the wife of legendary Commander Shepard, who told him that she felt that he would become a great person by his own right.
After hearing those words of wisdom, he trained harder and faster becoming a favorite by the brass who saw that he had the fire to achieve his missions. Eventually in 2220 CE, he completed his training and was made an N-7 Oprative while still ranked Lieutenent.
In 2223 CE, Deker had earned his own ship that he dubbed "El Puebla" in honor of his heritage from centuries ago and began going on different missions. Traveling through the Sol System meeting some of the stranded aliens that lived there showed Deker that the galaxy was bigger than he ever expected. His status changed when he managed to protect an entire state, which held many different species of aliens, from eradication due to Cerberus extremists who still believed in human purity. After capturing them Alliance Brass congratulated him and awarded him the Nova Star and rank of Lieutenent-Commander.
