Doubling is an extremely rare biotic ability that allows a biotic to translate their mass to two different points in space - in essence, a doubler is literally capable of being in two places at once.
The ability is extremely rare, even among the asari, who fear doublers and call them the kisha-darakshi, meaning "abomination of the wind".
Behind the scenes[]
- The word kisha-darakshi is a bastardization of the Hebrew kefizat haderech (lit. "contracting the way"), the ability to travel between two points in a brief period of time which is ascribed to certain rabbis. Fans of Frank Herbert's Dune novels might recognize the phrase, as the derived phrase "Kwisatz Haderach" is one of the titles given to Paul Atreides.
