Ellene Aetha, (born June 12th, 1962 CE) is an asari mercenary who lived during the Climax Era. She was a biotic and de facto commander of a group of mercenaries who resided in a bunker in the Vallhallan Threshold, Paz System, on Garvug, also serving with Eclipse mercenaries for a short period, and aiding Commander Shepard and the Systems Alliance during the Galactic War, aiding in defeating Reaper forces across the Milky Way galaxy, in the mission to retake Omega, and fighting ground forces in Berlin during the Battle of Earth.

The middle child of asari dancer Aranya Aetha and Krogan bouncer Tikrog Drak, Ellene was born in Nos Enai, Illium, on June 12th, 1962 CE. Aranya, a dancer at a local club known as Serenity, met Drak after work on his first day. Impressed by his brutality and strength, the two started a relationship an eventually had a child, deciding to settle down in a suburb of Enai; where they had Ellene. She had two siblings, her older sister Dirana, and her younger sister, Corenthia.
Upon birth, Ellene was a typical asari child. Living in an upscale apartment with her mother - by the time of Ellene's birth an actor renowned for her performances of multitudes of roles in plays by the human "Shakespeare", and father, running a private security firm, Ellene's family had no financial troubles in life.
As a krogan, her father had previously owned three varren which he had often fought on Tuchanka, so varren had always had a part in the Aetha' family. After settling down, the family owned three tamed varren, Spike, Lily, and Kurvok, the latter named after the famous krogan leader from the Krogan Rebellions.
Despite her mother's wishes for the talented Ellene to be a child actor, and to follow in her footsteps, Ellene was never popular, unlike her sisters, and never cared about other asari, or even some of the turians her sisters were into. Ellene was the black sheep of the family, caring more about vids and games; particularly interested in war. At the age of six, Ellene started school at the Nos Enai Academy for Talented Individuals, a private school with a monthly tuition of nearly ten thousand credits. There, she was a fairly average student, excelling only in physical education and Biotics training.
