Male Galjen
The Galjen are a race that were originated from a planet called Zarann. They are one of the handful of species who are not dependant on Mass Effect technology. The Galjen are the founding members of the Zalphic Coalition.
Biology[]
Galjen are a tall bipedal race, lack any patches of hair and grey skin. Large eyes and small slit nostrils above their mouths. Despite their skinny appearances the Galjen are physical strong and fast as other species. Males would have have a tougher build while females have a slender frame and faces, even more lighter color skin tone then their male counterparts
History[]
Ancient Past[]
Like all civilisations, the Galjen evolved on their homeworld and eventually colonised most their native system, giving rise to the Galjen Technocracy exploring beyond the nearest system they uncovered ruins of a long extinct civilization on a planet called Firok, amazed of the ruins still intact and the remnants of their technology still functional. The researchers sought ways to reactivate the systems and find any last recordings that explain what happened. They learnt that a race called the Uka'ra, once a thriving civilisation and held a small empire that consisted of a few systems in their part of the galaxy, who according to the archives had kept themselves hidden from a galactic spanning empire under the rule of another extinct species known as Protheans. Not much data on these races but had used what they learnt from the technology to accelerate their civilzatin by a few decades.
The Galjen have sent out probes to observe and research on other sentient they encounter races, but avoid all forms of contact if they are not entirely peaceful or a pre-space faring society across the known galaxy. humans as well, given their appearances of the 'greys' in popular media. The Galjen had discovered most of the region has no traces of mass effect, possibly have been removed or destroyed by the precursors for unknown reason.
First Contact[]
About over a century after fully colonising three star systems, the Galjen received data from one of their probes of another species that has recently begun to leave their homeworld and built a few space stations. One of the sentient species they were observing were the Draconans, a saurian civilisation that went into a series of warfare and started to go through long and tough changes for survival. The council had voted to establish contact with this young race, hoping to make good relations with them but still cautious of their cultures. Much to their surprise, the Draconans had records to their early encounters through legends and once thought of them as a myth. Through a lot of talks, both species had forged an alliance, offering them help of terraforming the inner system for their species to colonise and understanding of their unique cultures and technology the Draconans developed in short period of time.
