Imeria is one fo the oldest of the Asari Republics, dating back at least as far as 560 BCE, only 20 years after the asari developed FTL travel.
In 536 BCE, as the conflict between the asari and the lirrax began heating up, the lirrax invaded Imeria, which was relatively close to their homeworld, Zarr. The Asari Republics panicked and voted to close the mass relay linking Imeria to the rest of asari space, in order to prevent the lirrax from spreading. As a result, the asari living on Imeria were cut off from their sisters for over 740 years.
