Jonathan Eric Short was a captain, and the commander of the SSV London. In 2184 CE, he was discovered to be smuggling and was discharged, but he escaped before he could be imprisoned. He purchased a Kowloon-class freighter and modified it to be a smuggling craft with a better FTL drive core and hidden weapons systems, christening her the Dame of the Stars, he then joined the Blue Suns and made lots of money as an expert smuggler. As of 2185 CE, he remained at large. He also owned a custom-built machine gun which he modified.

Born on Mars in 2144 CE, he was named Jonathan Eric Short and born into a military family, both of his parents served in the Alliance. He joined the Alliance Navy at the age of 14. He spent 3 years at the Lowell City Naval College, joining the crew of the SSV Aachen. He was assigned to Fire Control and maintained the cannons. He was later promoted to Fire Control Officer and in battle he would send targetting data to the CIC. Over the next 6 years he continued to impress and was promoted all the way to Captain and was given his own ship - the brand-new SSV London.
