Ka'so Hensa was a famous batarian general, prior to and during the Rachni Wars. As famous as he was in melee combat and strategy, Hensa was just as famous for his alleged adultery with the wife of another high-ranking batarian general. When the affair was brought to light, Hensa was banished to command a backwater post near the mass relay through which the rachni would soon assault the galaxy. Caught unprepared and unawares, Hensa's forces were nearly obliterated by the intitial rachni assault, but through a judicious use of guerilla warfare and improvised weapons, Hensa's forces ultimately proved successful in driving the rachni forces offworld.
When Hensa returned home to Khar'shan, he was a broken man; leaving combat behind him for a short time. Riding his newfound fame and popularity, Hensa entered the world of politics, serving as the batarian ambassador to the Citadel Council. After a time too short for him to truly realize his potential in the world of politics, he discovered, through the Hegemony Intelligence and Reconnaissance Group also known as HIRG, that the Citadel Council planned to assassinate the manaba Emperor, and took actions to stop them.
After dueling and killing Jhosu'a Rann, Hensa boarded a shuttle, and traveled to the Manaban Emperor, Derimakshan's, palace in the Presidium. Hensa informed Derimakshan of the Citadel Council's plot to destroy the holy places of the manaba on the planet Ragnora, the original homeworld of the manaba. Eventually, Hensa and Derimakshan discovered the successs of the Citadel Council strikeforce in destroying the Tomb of the Virtuous, the most holy manaban site, and allied together to stop the Citadel Council from destroying the other races. Hensa assisted Derimakshan in his interrogation of Iletos Nariva, Tyrin Lieph's head of security in an attempt to discover the location of Lieph's secret refuge. While he and Derimakshan oversaw the removal of Nariva's body from the cell, Tyrin Lieph activated a secret electronic pulse device on Nariva's body, sending several waves of electricity into Hensa and Derimakshan, frying their nerves and killing them.
