The L88 Carbine was a krogan automatic bullpup rifle used by the Krogan Union in the Krogan Rebellions. Cheap, easy to make and moderately effective. The L88 was designed during the turning point of the rebellions when the Krogan Union was low on funds for production on weaponry. The L88, was effective against flesh and was able to inflict more damage due to the heavy weight of the rounds. However this brought the drawbacks of a shorter effective range. Against armor the L88 did considerably less damage as the rounds, which were made of steel were weaker and traveled slower lowering their speed and momentum when impacting armor. Despite this, the L88 was still effective in war and as long as shots were accurate and were able to hit unarmored areas, the heavy and powerful slugs inflicted massive damage, and the fifty two round clip helped ensure long firing time. After it's design, the L88 continued to stay the main weapon of choice for krogan infantry until the end of the rebellions where most L88s were melted down, sold to collectors, or taken as trophies by council soldiers.
