Paul Barnes (or "Barney") is a former lieutenant in the Systems Alliance Navy who served aboard the SSV Belgrade. After his CO, Cmdr. Emmanuelle Sharon, quit the Alliance, he accepted an early retirement and followed her the Nairida Corporation (more commonly called NairidaCorp.)
