The phorcydes are a sentient species from an as-yet unidentified world. Like the asari, they are a mono-gendered species - in this case, male - and thus, like the asari, they have adapted a means of reproduction. The phorcydes are, for lack of a better term, "shapeshifters", capable of disguising themselves as members of other species. Their shapeshifting abilities are relatively limited; they are only capable of posing as males, and each individual phorcyde is only capable of assuming one disguised form.
