The SSV Xinkou was a prototype Alliance support frigate commanded by Maj. Tina Rhodes. She was designed to aid Alliance ships from far back, where she would not be seen or targeted by enemy forces.
The Xinkou was equipped with an EMP weapon that could disable all power to a targeted vessel, rendering it inoperative and killing the entire crew due to lack of life support. While construction dates were classified along with the ship herself, she first saw service in the Skyllian Blitz, where she severely limited enemy deployment by disabling pirate dropships, making them crash into the ground.
She then saw action with the Corsairs. Working alongside the frigate SSV Gazala, the Xinkou would disable ships and then the Gazala would intercept and board them, sometimes modifying its weapon to only disable engines and weapons so pasengers could be taken alive if needed. The ship was upgraded to allow a cluster disablement, meaning multiple ships would be disabled at once by head technician and mechanical genius, Bob McGee.
The Xinkou saw her final service in the invasion of the Citadel, where she disabled numerous geth dropships. She was destroyed during the battle by a crashed turian fighter which impacted into the ship's bridge. All crew onboard were killed.
