Sarah Lance was an Alliance soldier who was enrolled in the Persian project, a special program that was made to improve her overall abilities, such as speed, strength and intelligence. The tests had several reverse effects though, and she was confined to a full-body suit that protected her because the tests dramatically weakened her immune system.

She was born in 2160 CE to wealthy parents. Both of her parents were strong supporters of the Alliance military, and when Sarah was of age, her parents enrolled her into an N7 training program. She was discharged after attacking a fellow soldier.
