- “So Aria T'loak is involved, eh? Not surprising, considering the only thing keeping us from war is a fragile trade agreement that can crumble any minute now.”
- —Thelvas Vardin upon finding evidence for Aria's involvement in the terrorism attacks on Chaza
Thelvas Vardin was a High Board Sergeant in the Chaza Merchants Army, who discovered and stopped a biological weapon that was supposed to exterminate all life on the Chaza space station. He was granted the highest honor in the Chaza Merchants Army after his heroic efforts, and was appointed High Board Sergeant, the Commontrade Overseer's bodyguard.
Early life[]
Thelvas grew up on the garden world Bekenstein, a human colony designed as a manufacturing base. Thelvas was the son of a wealthy merchant family, and he was destined to continue the legacy after his farther. However, Thelvas had other plans and signed up with the Systems Alliance at the age of 18, and spent some years patrolling citadel space and training for the N7 program. After saving his ship and its entire crew from certain destruction by distracting an enemy vessel, Thelvas was considered a worthy candidate for the N7 program. He did well in the initial tests but was excluded from the program in the final process, leaving him and several others to return to their old ranks. It was then that Thelvas deserted and flew to the Terminus Systems to pursue a glamorous lifestyle in the great trade station Chaza. Thelvas could not afford a proper merchant license and then joined the Chaza Merchants Army to save up enough money for a license.
Saving of Chaza[]
in 2181 CE Thelvas was assigned to investigate a series of strange murders often associated with politicians on-board Chaza. Thelvas was grouped with two elite Chaza Law & Security officers, to track down and capture the man responsible for the murders. They stumbled upon serious evidence that said that Aria T'loak was involved with the series of murders, and these indicting charges created a great tension between Omega and Chaza. at one point, an unindentified vessel filled with thugs and brigands from omega had planned to sabotage the Commontrade's meeting but their assault faltered as Thelvas and his stopped them before they could do any harm. This almost sparked a war, but further evidence found by Thelvas indicated that Aria was not involved at all and that it was all a trick to make Chaza declare war on Omega. The true enemy was a mysterious and well trained mercenary group called "The Lunar Sons", who were operating on the behalf of the Collecters, to soften up the defense of the Terminus Systems for the Reapers arrival. Along with this evidence, Thelvas also discovered the location of a biological weapon designed to wipe out all life on Chaza, and managed to disarm the bomb just in time. The conflict between Omega and Chaza soon stopped, and Thelvas was awarded the "Honor of Tycus" and appointed High Board Sergeant, the highest NCO rank in the Chaza Merchants Army.
