Commander Timothea Young was the Executive Officer of the SSV Ypres from 2179 CE until 2180 CE. Originally assigned to the Ypres to replace Cmdr. Jared Coulter after he and several other crewmen were killed in a pirate attack, Young's tenure aboard the Ypres was cut short when she discovered that she was pregnant, at which point she requested (and was granted) a transfer to the SSV Dyrrhacia, where her husband Richard was serving.
Eventually, Young grew bored of motherhood, and threw herself into advancing her career. When the Dyrrhacia's CO, Capt. Uwe Rohm, retired, she took over and made dramatic changes to the ship, increasing the ship's speed and combat capabilities at the expense of crew comforts.
