Tyler Sterling is an Alliance soldier. He has had an outstanding fifteen promotions, but a demeaning twenty-one demotions. Known for being a lousy soldier, Tyler was born on Earth, and was involved in gang activity when young. Tyler wanted to escape the gangs, and did so by joining the Alliance. He had a great four promotions during his early career, but soon, was sucked back into the life of crime. He managed to slip any crime past the Alliance, and stayed in the Alliance because he stated it gave him a reason to kill, though used drugs, and often drank. Soldiers alongside him even stated he usually smelled of alcohol, even in combat. Constantly promoted and demoted, for good deeds, and bad ones, Tyler's ranking as a member of the Alliance in general was in jeopardy for a large period of his career. Right after the attack on the Citadel, Sterling was dishonorably dismissed from the Alliance for not reply to a commanding officer during the attack on the Citadel, costing three civilians their lives. Tyler was killed of alcohol overdose a month later.
