Valerie Olinna was a seasoned human diplomat, known for embarking on risky missions to disarm dangerous situations without violence. Having been part of the Citadel diplomatic corps nearly as long as humans have been involved in galactic society, Olinna had more than twenty years of experience in negotiating with mercenaries, pirates, and strongmen who interfere with Council or Alliance interests.
Due to the dangerous nature of her work and her value to the Systems Alliance and the Citadel Council, Olinna was allowed to use the SSV Libreville as her own impromptu diplomatic vessel following the Battle of the Citadel.
